Vintage Ceramic Baby Polar Bear - Rose Tea Premium 1960s

Rose Tea baby polar bear collected as a premium from Rose Tea. It is white with textured groves for the fur depth.  It would go well in an outdoors scene, created as a school project , or can be paired with other Rose tea animals to create a collection, many of the other animals are shown on this Etsy page.  The original 15 animals did not have a polar bear cub, but the white glaze makes this bear cub a polar bear. In 1967, Red Rose Tea Company of Canada, worked out a contract with Wade ceramics of England, a company founded in 1954, which built a strong reputation for producing several series of miniature ceramic creatures.  Red Rose Tea contracted them to make special collectible miniature animals to act as prizes or premiums in boxes of their tea.. As 1983 rolled around, the series included 15 animals and they were in high demand in the United States . they were often made in to wall and shelf units to display the animals as they were collected.  They were regularly trade to get all the 15 in the set.  Today they are commonly found in large groups online.
